So let’s get to it! 

For those have been following this blog way back in 2004 probably have seen the evolution of FUNKYRIFFIC! from Nawal’s Goalicious – Eccentrico Funky Muslimah – Nawal’s Life In a Suitcase to Funkyriffic. Some posts stayed. Some got deleted (not relevant anymore & just HECK NO! ). What started as a way to jot down my goals and a source of motivation, it branched out to a lifestyle avenue for me to express myself in many ways and share my love for design, arts and crafts, all things good, parenting, being a muslimah and not just limited to my goals. 

I’m always into arts and crafts since wee age. Always loved Art Attack and Debbie Travis DIY shows and anything related to making, creating, revamping..I was all in! Designing things and making it come to life are my passion! I know and live that for a fact!

But.. along the way I tend to ‘try’ other things. See what works and what not. There’s just so many things to do in life and I wanted to do it all! My mind were cluttered. Surely we are allowed to experience and do many things but what is it that will be my ultimate anchor? I sought guidance from Allah to give me some clarity on my WHY? and my WHAT? and Alhamdulillah, my heart weighed on the thing I loved most but never pursued seriously. Designing!

So here I am in my newly revamped blog, I have the opportunity to showcase that side of me that has been suppressed due to busy-ness, busy being busy and millions of excuses. 

They say if you spend a lot of time at the barber shop you gonna get a haircut! You need to mingle and be around people who are doing it, people who are inspiring, people who are hardworking, creative individuals who never afraid to venture out! I needed that push. I wanted to do this so bad but I was in a blank. I need to be with my people. To connect, to be inspired. I believe that we are made to be great! Not mediocre and just settle.

I discovered Blogher Health Conference in January 2019 and my life changed from that point onward. Well probably not drastically but I do see some positive changes. I was skeptical at first but I knew I had to be there and it was the BEST DECISION EVER! Straight up! To see so many women, empowered and do what they do best in their crafts really a capatti slap on my head. A wake up call! “I could be the one on that stage if I ……….. “Yeap…fill that blank with whatever words you want to say because really… I can be as successful as those women on that freaking stage and so can you! So what’s stopping me? I’m going to stop right there. I’ll continue with that in my other post!

And again my friends…. that’s just 1% of my wacko life intro right here. May this newly revamped blog be a catalyst for this creative pursuit.
